Sozni embroidery is, among others, used especially to decorate shawls, especially for the panels along the side of the cloth.
Mukhtar Ahmad Bhat is a traditional artist who is an expert in Sozni embroidery. Mukhtar usually does the elegant and vintage sozni embroidery on pure pashmina shawls.
Mukhtar Ahmad also does Sozni on other apparel in the fabrics of cotton, silk and wool. Though the embroidery is extremely fine on the Pashmina Shawls as compared to the silk, cotton or woolen fabric, the charm it inspires is nonetheless the same. Muktar Ahmad creates magic with its tiny needle in his hand, that creates wonders on fabric.
